POST NATAL COACHING.

Post-Natal Coaching helps new moms and dads in all aspects of life once baby has arrived including routines, anxiety, relationships and “work-readiness”. Post-Natal Coaching gives you the tools to understand the changes and implement the solutions.

PSYCHOLOGY.

Physical and psychological problems after childbirth are common, and may have a significant negative and long-term impact on women’s wellbeing and daily functioning. The method of birth may be a particularly important factor influencing women’s health and wellbeing. Among these psychological problems following childbirth are postpartum depression, post traumatic stress disorder, and in rare cases, puerperal psychosis. Postpartum mental illness can affect both mothers and fathers, and is not uncommon. Many postpartum women will experience the “blues” for a few days. A small percentage of women may experience clinical depression. Prevalence of PTSD following normal childbirth (excluding stillbirth or major complications) is estimated to be between 2.8 and 5.6% at 6 weeks postpartum. Early detection and adequate treatment is required.

It is a common daily occurrence, yet we can be left feeling alone, anxious and overwhelmed.

POST NATAL SOCIAL WORK.

Social workers are members of the antenatal, postnatal and neonatal multidisciplinary teams that can provide health care and support for you and can assist you in a number of different ways.• Counselling and problem solving • Advocacy • Crisis and trauma intervention • Information • Discharge planning

MIDWIVES.

Midwifery encompasses care of women during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period, as well as care of the newborn. It includes measures aimed at preventing health problems in pregnancy, the detection of abnormal conditions, the procurement of medical assistance when necessary, and the execution of emergency measures in the absence of medical help. Midwives deliver babies and provide antenatal and postnatal advice, care and support to women, their babies, their partners and families. Midwives need the ability to deal with emotionally charged situations as part of their everyday work.
